ITINERARY

This tour begins in Madrid and ends in Casablanca

March 18 - Hotel Auditorium, Madrid Airport. Relax, refresh and get ready for a new adventure. Dinner on your own tonight.

March 19-20 - Hotel Husa Paseo De Arte Madrid. A short drive into the city where we will have a day of sightseeing in this remarkable city that was such a central point during the Spanish Civil War. We will have the opportunity to visit the Royal Palace (as long as there is no official function taking place) as well all the major sites. The day will set you up for the 20th which is a free day to explore. You might want to visit the Prado the world famous gallery famous for trhe works of Velázquez, Goya, Raphael, Rubens, and Bosch (among other major Italian and Flemish artists), or discover Flamenco or any of the famous monuments of the city. Dine in the hotel the first night then explore the richness of the Spanish restaurants for your second night in Madrid.

March 21-22-23 Hotel Melia Sevilla, Seville. Three days in the heart of Andalusia. What an opportunity to discover the Cathedral which is the third largest in the world, as well as that magnificent Alcazar - a palace with Moslem and Christian influences throughout and the fun Plaza de Espana the great big square in the heart of the City. We provide a guide for one of our days to set you up for your free day on March 23. A great walking city including the various ‘barrios’ or sections of the town. This is a city to be savored and you can do this by trying out the countless numbers of Tapas Bars in the City and just wandering the narrow cobbled streets.  Dinner in the hotel the first night, then a free day and the chance to choose your own dining experience that night.

March 24-25  Hotel MS Amaragua, Costa Del Sol. And now for a couple of nights on the Costa del Sol, the sun kissed corner of the Mediterranean. After a drive through Andalusia we arrive at our hotel with time to explore and enjoy the sea. Our next day is a morning drive through this magnificent region enjoying the luxurey of this special place. Afternoon is free. Dining in at the hotel both nights.

March 26-27  Ramad Crown Palace, Fez. We take the ferry from Algeciras then drive down to Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco where we will have a special Folkshow Dinner in our five star hotel. The next day we will see the Medieval Medina, the University, the Karouine Mosque and more. Fez is a maze of stone, marble and plaster surrounded by orchards. An aura of 1001 nights lingers here in the shadow of the minarets, sprawling outwards from the mosque like a spider web of alleys, houses and shops. From their workshops in back alleys potters, charcoal burners, goldsmiths and weavers still practice their ancient trades for busy shops and stores in the crowded streets. We will also visit the remarkable Roman Ruins of Volubilis. Afternoon is free to enjoy this ancient/modern city. Dinner both nights in the hotel.

March 28-29 Hotel Imperial Holiday, Marrakech. Leaving Fez we head into the Atlas mountains and visit Ifrane, an alpine-like village which is also a ski resort in winter. The town also hosts the country’s only English Language University. We will also see the very different town of Azrou. Beni Mellal, one of the fastest growing communities will be our lunch stop before we continue on to our four star hotel in Marrakech where we will have a bit of time to wander about before dinner in the hotel. Nex day we visit the breathtaking Royal Saadian Tombs and the Medersa Ben Youssef Koranic School, a remarkable example of Islamic architecture and style. We will alo visit thefamous Jemaa el Fna square where there are always markets and performers and sellers of almost anything. Both nights dining in the hotel.

March 30-31 Hotel Idou Anfa, Casablanca. After our drive Casablanca we have time to explore this large, growing and surprisingly modern City. Our base is the hotel located in the heart of the City. Next day we will have the opportunity to visit the Mosque of HassanII, the only mosque in Morocco which admits non Moslems. We will also visit the United Nations Square as well as the famous old town. Casablanca takes its name from the Portugese (who captured the city) Casa Branca - White House. Dinner in the hotel the first night but for our farewell dinner we head for a nearby traditional restaurant complete with authentic Moroccan cuisine and belly dancers.

April 1 - Departure Day.  We work with you to arrange your connection flights to start you on your journey home.
